Shaboozey has announced his fourth studio album, the concept project The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, will arrive July 31 through his imprint American Dogwood, in partnership with Empire.

The album is said to “promise a sweeping, story-driven experience rooted in Western themes and storytelling.” Shaboozey released a dramatic trailer for the concept project, narrated by Jamie Foxx, who delivers the ominous line, “There’s a hefty price to pay for revenge,” as scenes of a burning frontier town unfold. The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales serves as the follow-up to Shaboozey’s 2024 breakthrough album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, a deeply personal release that introduced fans to a more introspective side of the artist. Reflecting on that project, Shaboozey said, “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going was a journal entry and an opportunity for the world to get to know more about me as a person. That album changed my life. I never expected people to connect with the album and enjoy it the way they did. But now I want to show the world who I am as an artist and storyteller.”

The new album tells the story of Cherie Lee, a woman driven by vengeance after witnessing her sheriff father’s murder at the hands of the Bootcut Boys. She abandons her former life to track them down, only to develop complicated feelings for one of the very outlaws she’s hunting. Their relationship becomes a clash between love and redemption, ultimately culminating in a devastating choice that seals her fate. Shaboozey said that he leaned fully into narrative ambition with the project: “I want to show the world who I am as an artist and storyteller. It’s a western about revenge told continuously through every song, centered on the character Cherie Lee. It explores so many themes, as many timeless westerns have: revenge, redemption, and romance, through the eyes of a protagonist looking to challenge everything she once thought true about her world. I poured all of myself into this and I hope people become as immersed in the world and the journey as I have. This album was a promise to myself and something, no matter what, I had to keep.”

To bring the concept album beyond the music, Shaboozey will debut an immersive saloon-themed experience at Stagecoach 2026, running April 24–26. The pop-up will place fans directly inside Cherie Lee’s story, offering early glimpses of the album and appearances from the artist himself.

Serving as a preview of The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, Shaboozey has released the track “Born To Die,”and marked the release with a live performance of the song at Today Plaza in New York City. Stream ‘Born to Die’ – HERE.
